Painting the cowlin?

Can you guys tell me what is best, to paint the top of the front cowlin bright or dark color...
I will be paiting the plane in two weeks wonder what is best.

After looking at mine over a 2-3 year period, I would conclude that the cowling itself is better in a light color, but I certainly wouldn't consider myself any expert on this.

Flat black is the stock answer, if it does not detract from the overall paint sceme. The idea is to cut down glare reflecting into the cockpit. Any color flat paint would do I suspect.

The downside is flat black absorbs heat. Should be mimimal problem for the engine, but a consideration for the avionics, perhaps.
