Thanks for confirming my suspicions about taking-off with any flaps at higher elevations. Seems to me that flaps are too much drag at high density runways.
Break. CO_ did you fly a Skymaster in and out of Leadville? If so, were the flaps zero for takeoff? Last edited by Skymaster337B : 07-30-18 at 07:49 PM.

Since you're only deploy 1/3 flaps I normally do it about 2/3 of the way down the runway depending on AirSpeed and conditions, STOL practice is a good skill to have.

Telluride last week, 11,100' density alt on landing, 10,800' on takeoff. P-model, used less than half the runway on both takeoff and landing.
