Thanks for confirming my suspicions about taking-off with any flaps at higher elevations. Seems to me that flaps are too much drag at high density runways.

Since you're only deploy 1/3 flaps I normally do it about 2/3 of the way down the runway depending on AirSpeed and conditions, STOL practice is a good skill to have.

Telluride last week, 11,100' density alt on landing, 10,800' on takeoff. P-model, used less than half the runway on both takeoff and landing.
