20 years flying to Hatteras. Ask me about wind...

I carry three DOUBLE BRAIDED 1/2 inch 25 ft docklines, like for a medium-sized boat.

And stainless steel caribinir clips for the ends and tail.

One dockline for each main wing to ground,

The...

1. No annual / lower maintenance -

Probably not a good idea to...

There were many manufacturers of automobiles before the model T. They were playthings of the super wealthy. Because there were so few buyers, at very high prices, the few suppliers tried to compete...

The more shallow the discharges, the more cycles you get

The deeper a battery is discharged, the fewer cycles you will get from it.
The chemical process going back and forth each time is not perfect.

If your battery is allowed to get low then used for a...

Ye olde 400 series autopilots analog left/right pickoff from ILS / VOR head.

My new avidyne (2 years) autopilot will follow course just fine from the new head.

Just no vertical follower circuit....

A 337 has more utility than .... a horse

My wife "rode to hounds' for a number of years.

Fortunately we never owned a horse,
merely exploited the impoverishment of friends and owners who had too many.
Really the ideal way to 'have' a...

is A 337 male or female?

For the French, known for love, sex and food, ... and coffee and croissants,
"J'aime ma voiture" affirms cars as feminine.
However, in 'j'a'dore mon avion,' "I love my airplane," an airplane is...

My one and only rear 'started to thermal runaway' was years ago at Hanscom AFB, when the place had 450+ based aircraft, was DEC helicopters' base, and a wild and wholly place to operate.

One...

Even to the right, the vertical temp strips for EGT and CHT will be fine.
I understand they change to yellow or red if...

Good preflight landing gear check - dual hydraulic

The system is supposed to be self-'burping.'

While on the ground, cycle gear handle down.
That pressurizes and cycles everything.

Better to find an issue before takeoff, than after.

It should pop...

Insight G4 vs JPI 790 - pros and cons?

Neither company's fault, just terrible movie makers.

Commercial paint suppliers (such as PPG etc), such as service auto paint shops, should have a $20k color scanner they can bring to the airplane to determine paint codes, ALMOST perfectly.

Which explains many aspects of...
