Nose wheel hardware
Can anyone recommend a source for the self-locking nut, P/N MS20365-516C, used to secure the split nose wheel halves together? I have a 1965 Skymaster, and this P/N comes from the 1965-1968 IPC. I haven't found a source for the -516 size nut, nor an alternate P/N. The folks at military-fasteners.com, to whom I was referred by Aircraft Spruce, could not source it. They suggested it may have gone out of production, replaced by a different part number. Or, does anyone have a later edition IPC which might show a different P/N for this nut? Any help would be appreciated. You can email me directly at acmechanic@protonmail.com if that is more convenient. Thanks!

I think it’s going to cross over to a MS21044-N5. You can download the Cleveland wheel catalog and look up you wheel p/n. It shows a 40-76a

Odd that Spruce couldn't cross it. According to Cleveland 40-76a part number is 094-10400 (which does cross to MS21044-N5) In stock $12.65 each. The cleveland wheel and brake manual should be in everyones list of manuals to have. Regards, |

Thanks for info on nosewheel hardware
I appreciate the prompt response from the forum; what a great source of information. I downloaded all 3 IPCs from Textron. The 1965-1968 version, which I have, has the MS20365-516C part number for the nut, as does the IPC ending in 1972. For the 1973 to 1980 IPC, the part number for the nut changed to A1639-26, which was then changed to A1639-3 on the Textron site. I was just about to call Textron to ask for guidance. I'll try the suggestions mentioned. Thanks to all!
