Question Does Anyone else have an A/C STC?

I’m looking for the correct replacement belt for the Aviation Enterprises (Owen Bell) STC. On the paperwork it gives an odd four letter code for the part number that doesn’t seem to correspond to any existing belts.

I’m assuming he’s out of business since I’ve left a few messages and emails with no reply.

A hint at the odd 4 letter code, could go along way toward helping you.
A description of the belt couldn’t hurt either..

Yes it is indeed five letters vs the four I originally recalled. Thanks.

The reason I mention that, is with four letters, there is zip..
With 5 letters, I have a ton of cross reference for belts.
Is one of them your belt? Who knows.
So far, any information from you, seems to be “ light”, and unhelpful.
I love a challenge like this, but it is usually with the help of the one I’m helping.
You don’t fall into that category.
Good luck in your search.

Thanks for the insight Randy. Not sure if you figured out yet that “AE” most likely stands for the defunct company “Aviation Enterprises”! So now we’re back to just three letters! “SBD”. I’m sure you figured that out already. I wish I could give you more but the actual part number off the STC is it! As frustrating as this is for you (and me), it’s all I got!

Maybe we just wait and see if someone out there has this STC on their machine and may have an actual part number for this simple serpentine belt.

My mother used to say if you can’t say anything nice about someone, don’t say anything at all.

Thank you for your help on this. Let’s move on please.

A/C Belt

Herb, You were correct with “cessnaskymaster.com”. I was able to speak to Owen Bell who created the STC and he said that there were some minor differences between airframes utilizing this STC and that the only way to get the correct belt was to do what we were going to do anyway. That is, take a string and measure around the pulleys to get the correct length and then he can supply the correct belt. So, there no “one belt fits all” apparently with this mod.

I do have another part need for a nose gear steering boot to replace on my P model. PN: 1542050-1
They are not available anymore apparently like many Cessna parts. Any source or idea would be welcomed. There is the possibility of using a “similar” boot from another Cessna model that may work but I’d like to exhaust the search for the correct part first. Maybe even having a new one created using the old part through 3D printing possibly. Not sure of the legality of that but if it was fire proof and built with high strength silicone, not sure why it couldn’t be a possible solution for many looking for this and other similar parts. There’s YouTube videos of silicone 3D printing for boots similar to this one.
