Hub Caps

I seem to have lost a hub cap...

I remember an earlier discussion talking about making your own vs. buying which made alot of sense.

My question is, do any of you have an opinion about flying sans hub cap until I can get to that project?

I'd be interested in hearing about this as well.

re hub cap

I assume this is one in the mains and it is a 337.

If so...... then flying without a hub cab would not create a problem. It is not in the minimum equipement list <G> nor is it a critical part.

Now how do you lose a hubcap......... ??

Yes you can make your own but it never looks as good.

Just don't make it from an aluminum pie plate <G>

Bob- as always- thanks for the help.

It is main and is a 337. I have had a stripped thread on one of the three securing screws for years and just never gave it the proper thought. I guess one day the draft was just right...

There actually not all that expensive. The two main caps run about $50 and the front 2 haves are about 28 each if my memory serves. Most Cessna parts facilitys can get them easy enough. I think they really make the airplane look much better over not having any or having old looking bent up ones.
