Mdw

With Meigs no longer an option I am looking for an alternate airport for my trips to Chicago (south side). Have any of you flown in to Midway lately? Am wondering how big of a deal it is...

airnav

according to airnav, it's pricy. check http://www.airnav.com and search for mdw. gives fuel prices as well. incidentally a neighborhood group is up in arms over increased traffic at mdw. meigs used to handle abt 100 ops/day. much of that traffic goes to mdw

RRossner is an unknown quantity at this point
I just flew in to Midway three weeks ago. It was a no brainer. Just hook up with approch several miles out so they can feed you into the system and as always stay clear of the class B airspace.

We did buy fuel there but I didn't pay attention to the price as I wasn't the one paying for it.

Thanks for all the input. I flew in this wkend and it went smoothly. I was only asked to "keep my speed up" 3 times.

I can sure see why the controllers would be having fits. There was a 152 landing on the parallel and 737's behind both of us.

FYI- Went to Atlantic Aviation and they were great.
