Ernie / pre inspection
Lane Aviation in Columbus.
They ARE NOT cheap. I recommend a person at AGC. He is very reasonable and does an extremely good job. He did my last annual as I helped. Rather impressed with his 337 knowlege.. He would probably charge 1500 to 2k off the top of my head not knowing what version it is. bob |

$2000 for a Prepurchase?
Bob,
Did you say $1,500 - $2,000 for a prepurchase? Geez, fly the thing to Greenville, Mississippi and have the guy there do it who did mine. $380, extremely accurate and thorough, and didn't flinch at me living 3 states away and not paying up front. Labor must be a ton cheaper in the south compared to my hometown of CMH. ________ prettyLANA Last edited by Keven : 04-23-11 at 05:41 PM. |

prepurchase

I was only guessing as to cost. My AI charges 45$ per hour. Also depends how thorough is going to be. My pre-purchase inspection consisted on an annual. Borescope ? or kick the tires. If it is close to an annual then combine the two. As I said it depends on the type of aircraft. A normally aspirated 337 should be relatively straight forward. Why not contact laneaviation.com and see what they will charge. The real problem comes when you find a major problem after you have just bought and the IA shrugs his shoulders and walks away. Been there! fyi bob |
