Navomatic c-420a

I’m trying to wire up my new G5’s, with GAD29B. My control head to n my 1968 T337c is a c-420a. But I’m thinking I wire it up according to Garmin g5 install manual as if to a 400b?

A few questions:
1) there is a switch on back of control head that says gyro in or out...what is purpose of that switch? Thinking it has something to do with calibration, but can’t remember
2) does anyone else have their g5 units hooked to this control panel
3) do I have to keep the old electric rate of turn cord AND old AI plugged into a/p, as well as new gad29b?

Anyone successfully make this config work out?
