It seems to me that Niagara Air Parts chimed in on this. They mentioned a model that would keep their starter adapter warranty in place. It appears the starter of choice is the ST-5.
Many failed starters are due to starter circuit wiring issues and low voltage to the starter. Simply replacing the starter into a circuit with cable issues will be a temporary repair. Dave Last edited by DrDave : 09-09-20 at 04:06 AM. Reason: New info |

The starter was genuinely bad, bad brushes. Went with OEM so as not to introduce new issues with upgraded starter hard on mature mechanicals. But, per other discussions, checked wiring. Cleaned inspected cables and replaced contactor. Ground strap surprisingly corroded. Don’t forget to check the grounds too.
