Fuel Tank Hose Question

We are replacing the short hoses that go between the outboard and inboard main fuel tanks. The parts manual only calls out the Cessna "S" number with no other information. We planned to use MIL-DTL-6000 but Spruce has a note that this hose is "not recommended for use as fuel lines." A little digging on the Internet suggests that this hose works OK for avgas but is not compatible with auto gas. Can anyone provide some insight on the MIL-DTL-6000 hose or a suggested alternate hose material?

I just did that replacement at the last annual. I bought 10' of hose, part number R221489 at a list of $43.90 actually paid $35.12 per foot. From Air Parts Company Inc. Ft Lauderdale. (954) 739- 3575. The labor took 8 hours each side. You have to cut them yourself but you can use the old one for the proper sample length.

Thanks for the info! I noticed on the Textron/Cessna support site that the part number you mentioned is listed as meeting MIL-H-6000, the predecessor to MIL-DTL-6000.

I'm in the process of replacing all these hoses now. MIL6000D works fine with avgas but will not support mogas.
