Insurance -Is it worth it
How many insurance claims have you had????
Dad & I have owned 3- 337'bs and one P337G since 1978 - 28Yrs Never had a claim. We have only carried hull insurance for about 8 of those years due to the fact that two of my friends were flying the aircraft and could not afford to pay if they damaged the aircraft. We self insure now. I pay $1000.00 a year for liability ( $ 2,000,000.00 combined liability with three passenger seats covered) thru COPA which insures the pilot. I can fly any aircraft that I am licenced for and have liability coverage. We have two skymasters now and I am covered to fly them both. If I buy another aircraft I am covered Frank |

Good point, Frank. I wish we could self-insure as a group, cause it could make things a lot cheaper. But then you have all the management costs, setup, claims arguments, liaility, etc. - so soon you'd probably be right back to where we are.
