Jeff, in the end we did not go ahead with G4 install but will at some time. The recommendation was to replace the hose going to the flow distributor with two shorter pieces and have the fuel flow sensor in the middle mounted inline "floating" with the hose which is properly secured by the installer, who hopefully has done such installs before. We also had difficulty figuring out where to connect the oil temperature sensor, which cannot replace the existing unit because the G4 is not a primary instrument aside from CHT/EGT. The avionics shop we talked to (BrantAero at CYFD) had a location they had used before, as the alternates suggested by Insight were blocked by the governor unit or did not exist on our engine.

Sensors
Hi Pat,
Thanks for the quick feedback! I was wondering the same thing about the oil temp. I will need to sort that out as well I am sure. Thanks for the help. Jeff |

FYI
on the IO-360 C I used the oil port just to the left of the crankshaft on the front of the block for oil temp. I would think your engine would have this port also. If not I would contact Continental Motor for info, they are fantastic to work with

Thanks Herb! I will have a look at that on my engine.
