It deletes the main gear doors and the actuators that operate those doors. I requires that you remove the doors and actuators and then replace the doors with a composite panel that allows the gear access to retract without opening. That opening stays open at all times. Very much like the C210 later models.

Is there any significant performance hit from removing the doors?

No performance hit at all. Extremely noticeable difference on gear retraction as you do away with the "barn door" affect caused by the clamshells. As soon as we get positive rate, we retract the gear with no adverse affects. We market this product as a safety feature in the case you lose an engine during gear retraction or end up with a door stuck open.

If you have any questions, I'm Ray Jr. so if I don't know the answer I can relay it to my old man.

List price is $3800 and estimated 24-30 hours for the first time installer. If you call and order let my pops know you're a member of SOAPA and he'll knock off 10% on the price.

Smile Gear door delete info needed.

The owner Ray is a great guy! I purchased a kit on E-bay and noticed I'm missing one of the brackets on the right side. It's a compound angle to mount the fiberglass fairing. I e-mailed him JUST AFTER THE HURRICANE HIT HERE LAST MONTH. He e-mailed me and said it MAYBE two months before they could manufacture one.WOW! I'm an A&P with 20 years experience in aircraft sheet metal repairs (U S Army) and ask if I could make the angle. Ray told me that I could and for me to send him pictures of the re-manufactured part and he as the designer would approve it! Thanks Ray!!
