Cool Manual cowl flaps for 1967 337B

Has anyone installed the manual cowl flaps - whose (?), what it cost, any problems installing, etc. I'll sell my cowl flap motors if I can install the manual system.

Every comment I ever read from someone who actually had the manual kit installed seemed to praise them.

GMAS used to pan them badly.

I'm think I'd love to have them on my rear engine. But since mine are still working well there's not much incentive to change. Seems that the wiring often breaks down, though, or the soldering on the little switches, etc. A high maintenance item for sure. And I already replaced the "follow-up" cable early on back when I first bought the plane.

Seems hard to avoid the thought that a manual system should really be simple and maintenance-easy by comparison.

Francisco is on a distinguished road
I have them on my 336 since I bough the plane . The previous owner (A&P) instaled them (W/337). they used to be very hard to operate at high speeds 135+ but last anual my mechanic lubricated the whires and it is getting lots easier to use.
