c337 step

Hello.
I was wondering what the members think of the importance of the entry step?
My '65 did come with one and I could purchase it for about $150-do I need it? FYI I'm short 5'2".
Thanks in advance.

yes

unfortunately, the answer is yes.
The reason is it is required on your aircraft.

I did come with one or it didn't come with one?

The step will bend / break if a large amount of weight is subjected. This may have been the reason yours is not attached. I have had to repair mine in the past. My experience is you will want this step as it really is more of a safety item for entry and exit. I think for the cost you really will be glad you installed it like it originally was.

step

Hello again.
I bought a step from Dodson and I think it's the wrong part. The tag says it's for a C177 but it has the correct part number? I place the step in the hole in the side (below door). The bend portion of the tube looks to be in the right place BUT the welded sheet metal piece is far to low, about an 1-1 1/2"?
Thanks as usual.

Shoot a photo so we can see it. The step mounts inside the cabin and outside both.

Step

HH and all.
I removed the sheet metal portion of the step from my plane and see that the part I was sold is NOT correct. I'm returning it.
Thanks for your help.
