engine driven hydraulic pump rebuild

have 1970 E model that has the engine mounted hydraulic pump for the gear. looks like I will be needing a rebuild. wondering about experiences and suggestions. I have used Quality Aircraft Accessories for other stuff and plan to call them. Looks like Power Packs Plus does this pump too. Also, I thought somewhere I read can check the pump by seeing the doors close on runup after manually opening them. I can't seem to find that in print to confirm. By the way-have the dual pump set up (one on rear and front) which is why I would like to know about operation of each. Discovered hydraulic fluid reservoir low with no outside source of leak or drips. Service manual says this behavior can be a pump seal leaking sucking air, fluid foams and dumps overboard.

Pump the gear doors down with the master off and then start either engine and use the gear handle in the down position to close the doors on the ground
