Alt. Restart Batteries?

I've been trying to locate the Alternator Restart Batteries (4 D-Size dry cell) which the service manual and A&P's say is located on the "control quadrant support forward of the panel supply power for the system". All I see is wires? I've been told to use mirror's and that it is in a plastic housing near the yoke mount? My A&P thinks Riley got rid of them and re-wired the system when He did 60 Amp alts but I can find no documentation. Does anyone know? I'm a 1973 T337/G ...P337 # 91.

Thanks in advance,
Brent

Gord Tessier is an unknown quantity at this point
They are easy to find. they are in a small black plastic housing. If you can't see them behind the throttle quadrant with the side panel off then they have probably been removed.

Found them! Funny thing is they were C batteries? I guess Riley changed them from D to C?

Thanks,
Brent

Hi Brent

I have just replaced mine during the major refurb, they were C size and my 74G has not been modified from original, I have a current parts manual and will take a closer look at what size it specifies, it wouldn't be the first time they have been wrong.

I wonder if Cessna changed them with the P's and did not update the manual?
