Smile Panel Angle - How to calculate

I have a 1971 Skymaster 337F and am going to install a new RC Allen MINI6 instrument in the panel. The manufacture states that you must specify your panel angle when ordering. Does anyone know the panel angle on our skymasters or know how to come up with it.

Yours for Christ,
Cliff

Welcome to the party, Monte. Glad to see a brother here.

I can't help you with the deck angle, but I'm curious why you chose the RC Allen vs. the Garmin or UAvionix offerrings, which both cost less?

I don't have a dog in this hunt, I'd just really like to know, as I may be in the market soon myself!

Someone will come along here soon and answer your angle question.

I was told previously that we have a zero degree panel.

Panel angle.

It turns out the panel angle on my Skymaster is zero, no tilt at all. I chose the RC Allen MINI6 because I already have the Uavionix and have not been pleased. It processes badly so you must correct it very often.

The MINI6 gives you all of the functions of your traditional 6 pack on one instrument, and it has an internal magnetometer. Check out Bob Hart’s article entitled 6 IN 1 in the July edition of Cessna Owner Magazine. Read this article as it compares the features of the other instruments you are considering.

I also e mailed the sales department at RC Allen and they were very helpful.

Yours for Christ,
Cliff
