Cool Fuel System Selector Valve...

Hey guy's,

Has anyone had a fuel selector valve that would not shut off? I can not shut the fuel off to the front engine. It appears that the
"Selector valve assy LH" part #C291505-0102 is not totally shutting off. Does anyone have the schematics to the above mentioned part to be able to O/H the valve? Anyone have any ideas on this issue? guy....

Are you getting any leaking around the selector valve? If so, you may need to overhaul it. Cessna wants $800+ for the kit, but if you do your research you can find the same parts for under $5.

Check the check valve?

Guy,

I presume you have the fuel strainer on the front engine opened up or perhaps one of the lines to the electric fuel pump... if this is the case, when you turn the selector valve to 'OFF' are you noticing any difference in the amount of fuel coming out? If it's a small amount, rather than a gusher, it could signal trouble with the check valve that's just below the manifold on the pilot's side of the fuselage below the arm rest rather than the selector valve itself. Something to check on.

It's a good idea to have a set of cap-plugs on hand to seal-off the lines when you're working with oil or fuel lines.

Unhappy Selector valve... thanks to all...

Hi Jerry.
Picked up the fax's this am. I see the selector valve Part # C291505-0102 however I don't see the schematics to the said valve. Tom at CPA is doing a search for me too. There are used ones out there and I have located a NOS. Thanks for the effort from all. Guy....
