undercarriage hoses.

At annual I am having my shop fit a complete set of hyd. hoses to the landing gear. While I hope they will do things by the book, have any of you guys out there experienced any problems or offer any advice when changing hoses ? The aircraft is a 1977 with the elec/hyd power pack.
thanks.
sunnysky.

Make sure they check the main gear down lock geometry and and adjust it per the manual.

Also make sure they place the hoses for the down locks in the correct position per the manual, with no twists. If not the hose can push the lock out of its fully retracted position and it will start to pressurize which is bad news as the gear then has to work very hard to get it out of the way.

If you are opening it up to replace the hoses, you might also consider rebuilding the main gear actuators as well. It will give you lots of peace of mind if you don't know the last time they were rebuilt.

Regards - Dave
