Autopilot manual

Does anyone have the service manual for 400A autopilot without IFCS? If you do, can I get you to fax some pages from it to me? I tried to order it from Sigmatek, but they are out of stock, lead time 8 weeks. Bob Cook volunteered to send it to me, but he is away from where his manual is, so it will be next Monday before he can help with that.

If anybody can help me sooner, I would really appreciate it. The pages I despartely need are the "pricipals of operation" chapter, and the maintenance chapter that covers the adjustment of the pitch servo and trim servos after R&R.

My FAX number is 503-590-2867.

Thanks!

Kevin

I didn't know there was such a manual. If you get hold of a copy, I'd like to know how to adjust the pitch control to "center" it (will climb fine , but won't descend.) I replaced AI and apparently it requires tweaking after a new AI is installed.

400A Autopilot

Jim

Adjustment and recentering of all the servo's for the 400A are in the Cessna Avionics Installation manuals.
I have a manual covering the Cessna 337G and on if i can get hold of the page i will email to you, or i can give you the instructions on email.
The adjustment is quite easy.

Regards
Pete

That would be wonderful Pete. My FAX number is in the top message of this thread. I have electric trim, so if there is a page about R&R of the trim servo (I don't think their will be), if you could send that as well, it would be great.

440A Autopilot

Pete, both Kevin and I are answering you. All I need to do is adjust the pitch control on the control head to allow more pitch down. Mine is a 400A I think some 337G's had 400B's and maybe even straight 400's

Many thanks,

Jim Rainer

Bob,

I asked Bob Cook if he would copy his for me, but have not heard from him yet whether he will be able to do so. If he does not have time, and you are willing, I would be happy to reimburse you for copying and mailing costs. I'll let you know, thanks for the offer!

Thumbs up Manual copies

To eveyone interested in copies of the 400 Autopilot manuals. I looked at the Service/Parts manual and it has about 90 double sided pages. The operations manual is in the plane. When I get to the airport this weekend I will pull that out and see how many pages there are. The service manual is very detailed, schematics and set-up procedures, testing and so forth. If I get an idea of who all is interested in a copy I will go to the printer and see what they will charge me to make copies. I have manuals on everything on the skymaster. The previous owner (had tons of money) had bought every manual on everything on the plane, engine, turbo service and rebuild, Cessna tech bulletins, avionics installation and wiring from Cessna. I have about 15 different manuals. Haven't looked through all of them yet but will some day. My A&P loves them.

Thumbs up 400 manual

I will get 10 manuals copied this week. I will then notify eveyone on what the copy costs are. I will get them copied at a printer I use for my business. They are very reasonable. Then somehow I will have to get everyones address so that I can send them out.
