Rear prop help
Just found out my rear prop hub is cracked. The shop found an acceptable used one and I spoke to Don Neiser and he was checking for me as well. However the prop shop guy suggested that if I can find an overhauled later type (non threaded) that it may not be much more money and that this is a more durable solution. A new prop is big dollars. Any advice or suggestions from anyone, much appreciated? Or anyone have a line on an overhauled prop or low time prop for my 1965 normally aspirated?
I have one lead I am chasing down now, but looking for any advice or ideas. Many Thanks. Bill |

Have you called Preffered AirParts? They part out Cessna twins all the time, including the Skymaster. Might have what you need...

Didn't know the newer types can be used on older models. Make sure of what you are getting into. Don Nieser would know.

I have not tried PA, but will. I understand the later prop, McCauleys fix for the threaded issue, is completely interchangeable. Bill

Hi Bill
Contact Larry on the email address below, he is located near Nashville NC and did have a rear prop off a 76G model he was wanting to sell. From what he told me it was at a prop shop. I did not ask a price for the prop as I was only after the spinner assembly, you may be able to strike up a deal suitable to both parties. Worth asking.
