Rigging recommendation

1977 G, requiring too much left rudder trim. California based. Is there a rigging specialist anyone has used and would recommend? My A&P doesn’t have all of the necessary jigs, etc.

Thanks in advance,
Kevin

You might give Phil Kirkham at Coastal Valley Aviation a call, he is at Santa Maria. Good guy.

Kevin, requiring left rudder trim for Skymasters is normal. As a matter of fact, the factory service manual calls for them to be rigged with left rudder.

I had the rigging squared up on mine and it was inexpensive to have the rudder rigging jig made up.

Details here: http://www.337skymaster.com/messages...ead.php?t=1680

It's a pretty simple job for a competent A&P with access to the 337 Service Manual.

How deflected should the rudders be compared to the fins? Is there a standard measurement?

Well, yes but that's what the rudder template is for.

It's not the sort of thing you eyeball. Make a template and use the service manual.
