Gas Heater fuel pump

Just popped the end cap off of my cabin heater fuel pump the other day due to seeping of fuel, thought it just needed a new gasket. Wow, after removing the cap it obviously had not been off in a long time and I can’t believe the heater worked with all the rust and junk in there. There is a filter in there that is cleanable with the original Bendix pumps. The newer ones have a red plastic tumbler for the screen.

Ended up going to Safe Skies and got a used Bendix pump that was clean on the inside. If you acquire a used replacement, be sure to have them take the end cap off to make sure it is clean on the inside.
