Wtb P337

Hi. I am new to this Forum. Tons of good info here.

I am looking for a P337. Ideally, it would have intercoolers, Air Conditioning -I live in south Florida-, inflatable door seal, de-icing and a good autopilot.

I am not looking for a project plane, but for a plane that can be flown right away.

If you have one for sale, or know of one, please email me at rrollan@gmail.com

Thanks,

Richard

Air Conditioning

Looking at all the P337's on the market, very few have air conditioning. The Riley conversions are pretty much the only game in town for AC. I live in FL. My current airplane does not have AC, but it is un-pressurized. As sson as you get to 5K or so, things get better. Plus I have a B-Kool ice cooler that does a great job for a couple of hours.

Any advice? Dick Collins in his 1973 Flying Mag review of the P337 commented that it was pretty warm i.e instant sauna. He suggested setting the pressurization to 7000 to help alleviate the heat.

What is everyone's experience with the P337? Is AC a must in warm climates?

Love our plane here in the north. A pressure cooker without AC.

Air conditioning was a must have item for me. You would not buy a car without it so why a plane? Find yourself a nice Riley.

I really want AC. There are other options, but having it built in is best... The problem is finding the right aircraft at the right price... Not very many options out there.

Jeff:

Thanks. I have been talking to Bill Crews and to private owners to locate the right aircraft for me and my family.

I also monitor Controller and TAP.

It will likely take some patience but I will get there...

After a number of months, I have closed on a 1973 P337 which in the end fit my mission profile nicely. It is now undergoing maintenance and upgrade (panel principally) to get her up to a good standard. Tail is N39288.

Herb:

You are correct. Reims built machine. 3100 TT with fairly low time engines....

I am having an early annual done as a follow on to pre-buy activities and then it goes in for an updated panel...

I look forward to get it into my hangar....

Richard
