Propeller bulkhead and aluminum repair

As many of you have probably experienced, when I was doing some work on the rear prop I discovered that the propeller bulkhead had a number of cracks. After some research, I found a place that has an FAA approved repair procedure for spinners and bulkheads. We all know how expensive a used bulkhead in marginal condition costs.....These guys repaired numerous cracks for $480. I thought that was a bargain. As long at the bulkhead is still intact and not disintegrated, it appears they can fix it. The work looked great.

I also talked to them about aluminum repair (specifically fuel tanks) and he said he just got done repairing a cracked filler neck on a 172 tank (very common) for $600. I had the same issue with my 172 and Hartwig in northern MN charged me $2200 to fix it.........these guys seem much more reasonable.

The name of the company is K and K Precision Welding in Wisconsin. The web page is:

Super nice guys to boot!
