Smile Wanted "Wing Tips" (74 337G)

I have a set of non-drooped tips, I'm looking for a set of semi-droop tips. I may sell my (fiberglass) set, for half what Stene wants, $375 plus international shipping. Let me know...

Wing Tips

There are several types of wing tips and this has always been something I have noticed. I can pick out 5 types which I have posted a document that has photos and descriptions. Anyone else have any additions?

My bird came with the semi droop tips. I know that dad put a Horton STOL on when he bought the plane but I don't think he changed the tips but he may have. If it originally came with the Straight he may have opted for the Semi Droops at the install of the STOL kit. But knowing my dad he probably kept the same original tips. These are high grade plastic from Cessna (I think because I have seen other Cessna tips from this material) which never did impress me. I think Cessna left out the high grade I installed the Lightning Winglets and flew them for several years and now I have the Internal Lighted variety which seem to be the later model standard. I have not flown with the STOL full droop so not sure what that includes but with the Horton kit installed I wonder about the characteristics of them.

What type do you have? What type is SkyMac looking for?

Hi Herb

As always many thanks for you assistance, currently I have horton tips with full nav lighting.

What I am hoping to locate are a set of original standard Cessna plastic tips,

PN 1520008-23
1520008-24

Trying to obtain original, if not then I will look at F/glass replacments.

Regards
Dave

Is the part number you are looking for the staight original type or the semi droop with the internal lights? I would assume that the original type on your model would be the internal lighted type.

Hi Herb

Yes I am after the straight internal lighted tip's, PN's are for these. In San Fran at present for 5 days, otherwise I would just double check.

Regards
Dave

Trade?

The internal lighted type actually have a slight droop to them. That's what had me confused. I would be interested in trading for your STOL tips if you are. It would be difficult for freight though but I guess you do that all the time. I have a special rate on FedEx that gets a great discount.

My internal lighted are currently on my plane and I could take a photo if you would be interested. Are your current tips full large droop tips? Horton fiberglass?

Enjoy the bay area, my family and I spent 3 weeks down in OZ for Christmas and New Years. We had a great trip.

Hi Herb

Hoping to get a day off to look around San Fran before I head back down under.
I will most likely keep the tips (Semi Droop) as I have almost a full Horton kit with the STC (boom fairings are missing) and plans, only the tips and boom fairings were ever installed as I purchased the plane before instalation was completed.
My aim is to sell the kit as a package, minus the boom fairings. Appreciate the offer though.

Dave

Hi friends, can you help me? I need a new cover for my strobe Skymaster. The end has already made the dull and the type is: 4 Internal Lighted, realizes where I can order the best in Europe at the end of both wings? In addition, the rear still needs a strobe or a complete or cover herself. Please help Regards

Hi

I bought new wingtip lenses (74G) from Great Lakes Aero Products for about $80 each + postage, they are better quality then Cessna in my view at half the cost.

www.glapinc.com

For the rear strobe I would go to Don Neiser first, he should have what you want.
