Frank Benvin is an unknown quantity at this point
Engine mounts - lord or barry

Looked on line for new engine mounts at Aircraft Spruce

Lord - 565.00 Canadian each

Barry - 431.00 Canadian each

Which ones would you recommend are the lords worth paying 134 more for each one

Thx in advance

Frank

There is no difference between the brands, other than price. They are made to the specification for the application, meaning they will both use the same grade and durometer elastomeric material, and the same spacer materials.

I did my front mounts a couple years ago. What I recall was they were hard to get and just took what I could find, having to sources from multiple vendors. Each vendor had 1 or two only and not a complete set.

By the way, what is the process for lifting the rear engine? It looks high for a regular engine hoist to have the range to lift. I have thought about a rolling gantry crane. Between the booms? Outside the booms? Also sounds like an accident waiting to happen hitting or falling on the booms.
