Flying Adventures is planning a trip to the islands

2020 Flying Adventure - we will be going back to the Bahamas in 2020 and as we did several years ago it could be tied in with Sun N Fun. We would probably go to the islands first and then those that wanted to stop by Sun N Fun could on the trip back. Stay tuned

2019 Flying Adventure is the Great Smokey Mountains - May 18 - 21, 2019
Come join us, more info to follow

Bahamas

I can’t wait till 2020 to take my bird to the Bahamas. It’s going to be Christmas break, 26DEC2018-1JAN2019. Making the itinerary now. If any other 337s want in on the fun, give a holler.

Tips for Flying to the Bahamas

I've been flying my 337s (3 of them) to the Bahamas for 20 years. Info and tips on how to do it may be found in http://www.skymasterus.com, and if any of that is confusing you may call me -- my phone is listed in http://www.consultresearch.com.

CBP Decal Sticker Update

All,

I applied for the required CBP sticker the second week in November and JUST TODAY got notice that it would be sent to me via the expedited shipping I'd requested. Note: thats almost 3 months. Wow. Originally I had planned to fly to the Bahamas for the xmas break but as it happened I broke my leg and so wasn't flying anywhere. I had requested both CY 2018 and 2019 stickers to cover both sides of the break.

Lesson: if you plan to cross a border, make sure you get your sticker without a government shutdown to mess it up. Plan early.

12” identification markings for border crossings?

What size identification letters are you guys using for your airplanes? I have 10 inch letters and will argue that ICAO requires 12” or the largest size that will fit, and 10” are the largest size that do not wrap around the boom. Has anyone had customs problems with 10” markings?

Unless they have changed you can buy the sticker when you clear customs back here in the states.

No problem with the 10 inch numbers Randy. They won't be able to tell the difference. Going to Bahamas, they don't care down there just crossing the ADIZ is where it's officially required. Coming back into the US is no problem with standard boom numbers 10 inch.

If your CBP sticker doesn't arrive in time just have a copy of the receipt that shows you purchased for 2019. I just came into the USA at Fort Pierce last week from Exuma and didn't have my sticker yet but US Customs didn't even ask about it. I had my receipt ready
