Rental car at OSH?

My friend Carlo, who is coming to Oshkosh with me, would like to rent a car in OSH while we are there and drive to visit family in Milwaukee. I told him that I thought it might be very hard to find a rental car during the show. Do any of you who have attended have any thoughts on whether this is possible...any tricks, or sources?

Normally I would fly him there, and I know he would prefer that, but once I get a camp spot at OSH, I don't want to leave and lose it.

The FBO B?? usually has rental cars. I would try Enterprize because they will pick you up or call

suggest calling Basler and reserve an Economy from them.

The alternative is drop your friend of short at a local airport such as O'Hare and he can drive the rental to Whitman field. now isn't that an idea?

In the past I was able to get last minute cars at Madison (90 minutes South) and Green Bay (60 minutes North). However, finding cars closer to OSH looked impossible. Hope you have better luck than I did.

Only way is call and reserve.(did u try ?)

Last year I saw numerous Hertz car/transports loaded with compacts. Bet they moved a whole bunch in from Chicago.

Dropping him short on the way, not a bad idea. Maybe I should just drop him in Milwaukee on the way...duh.
