Seat Rails
HAS ANYONE HAD TO REPLACE SEAT RAILS?
MY 68 C MODEL IS IN ANNUAL AND I HAVE ONE RAIL THAT IS BELOW MINIUMUMS. ACCORDING TO MY A/P HE TRIED SEVERAL USED RAILS FROM SOURCES (NOT SURE YET WHERE FROM) AND THEY WERE NO BETTER AND NOW HAS ONE ORDERED FROM CESSNA BUT IS ON 3 WEEK BACK ORDER. APPARENTLY THE PART NUMBER IS AN ISSUE ALSO. SAYS HE ORDERED THE PART FROM THE BOOK AND IT WAS THE WRONG ONE. HAD TO WORK WITH CESSNA ON THE RIGHT PART NUMBER. HE SAID THE FIRST ONE HE GOT WAS FOR A BENCH SEAT. IT WAS MUCH SHORTER THAN THE ORIGINAL THAT NEEDED REPLACED. I DON'T THINK THERE WERE ANY BIRDS WITH BENCH SEATS IN THE FRONT? HE ALSO MENTIONED AVAILABILITY OF BLANKS? THEN DRILL THE HOLES FOR THE APPLICATION. HAS ANYONE HEARD OF THIS?

Update. As of 11/2020, Don doesn’t stock later-model seat rails. He suggests sending old rails to McFarlane.
