Alternators
In four years, I have gone through two rear engines alternator drive coupling shafts, two front alternators, and now a front alternator drive coupling shaft. This leads me to believe that the alternators need a more robust system (stronger shaft, bigger load capacity). Does anyone know of an STC for a standby alternator or a bigger replacement alternator? Anyone else have trouble with repeated alternator failures?

Have you searched the message board for alternator issues? The late great Pete Summers should have some posts about this. I can't remember what issue you might have but I don't think it would require a modification. Something else is wrong for you to continue to have this problem.

Search for answers
Ihave searched the message board and read all the old Skymaster newsletters. I have only found two previous owners with a similar complaint. But no answer.

I was looking for an upgrade alternator, I found the hartzel alternator p/n ES-4006, or continental 634442, it's a 60 amp 28 volt gear drive, and isles applicable to IO360 engines, but i couldn't find an stc or something else.
