I should suggest with a 337:
After take off - Flaps up
wait until 400ft above ground and then
Gear up
If engine fails blue line!
This procedure seemes very good
Because the gear doors give so much drag!
From 400 ft ground you can still climb at +/- 200ft/min to 600ft or higher whats often enough to go back for landing!
