Question about flap cable guide

Well, my mechanic found the rods for the flaps had been wore down by some screw (too long) and rubbin to the point of making a pin hole on the tube What Do I do?
he recomend's I dont' fly the plane untill I replace the rods. can they be welded?

so there she sits and here I seat, my wallet is empty and my credit car extended all forthe love of fly.....
