Nose gear doors are open after landing

Im hoping someone has some ideas about a gear doors issue. 1965 337, gear operating as it should. Reservoir topped off, but after landing and shutdown my nose doors are open. I don't seem to have any leaks or air in the system. I can turn the master on and pump the gear up. Its a mystery!

So let me understand, the doors do not close when the gear is extended? Or are they opening slowly after some time sitting? Do they close when the gear is retracted?
Sounds like it could be the actuator Bill, it is probably leaking back into the system internally and releasing doors unless the doors don't close when the gear handle is selected.

Hey Herb. I thought I had it fixed by servicing g the fluid. But the nose doors still an intermittent problem. I get green light, gear is down, main doors closed. But nose wide open. About 50/50 it happens. I notice at shutdown when I get out.

Sounds like a bad wire or connector to the micro switch. If it is only the nose gear doors then I would check the micro switch that is closed when the gear is extended. If there is a short or bad connection the doors will not close because the system thinks the nose gear is not down. Check the wires, connector and switch carefully as it is 99% something really simple and just a bad connection

nose gear doors

If the nose gear down switch were the problem it seems like the green gear down light would not be lit up or would show intermittently?
