Dinosaur Juice

Hi there, hoping the experts can provide some clarity and guidance for me.

I have a 1973 G, s/n 1528. My fuel tanks are 60gal each (59.5 on the gauges). I'm hoping someone can tell me if I have the "long-range" tanks or not. The manual is ambiguous on this point.

Next question, my right fuel gauge is intermittent. I would like to know if there are any good tips or starting points for troubleshooting this? The left gauge works fine and reads accurately.

Lastly, not wanting to spend a ton of money, it seems to me the thing to do would be to put in the CiES senders and Aerospace Logic fuel gauge. Being new to Cessnas, I'm learning lots about the "pennycap" system. Am I correct that I would need six senders for my installation, but a two-tank gauge? Is there a replacement for the pennycap monitors as well?

Thanks!

Long range tanks are 148 usable total. I think you have the standard tank set up and not long range.

Earlier models had around 92 gallon tanks or 92 gallons in the mains and 36 gallons in the auxiliaries if you had both Then they went to 123 gallon single long range tanks the 146 gallon tanks started on the 1975 model

Is there a way to lookup options by serial number?
I would also maybe look through the logs and see if there are any clues there.
I would think the gauges would need to match what you have.
I have a 67’. The 2 sets of gauges match the usable tank capacities.

If your 1967 is equipped with long range tanks will have

1) Main tank on the outer part of the wing - fill near landing lights 46 gallon
2) Aux tank between the boom and fuselage 18 gallon
3) Fuel gauge for main tank - labeled fuel - marked 10 /20/ 30 / 40 gallons
4) Fuel gauge for aux tank - labeled aux fuel- marked 5 / 10 /15 gallons
5)Fuel selector - off / main / aux
