Skymasters on CBS 60 Minutes
Last night CBS's 60 Minutes had a piece on blue fin tuna, how the demand in Japan -- where a single fish can sell for $20,000 -- has sparked a frenzy of fishing innovation and the possible wipe-out of the species. Anyhow, in the Mediterranean, groups of specially-equipped ships use spotter airplanes. The first shot of one of these planes was from afar, clearly a Skymaster to other pilots but too far for its distinctive outline to be noteworthy. Near the end of the report, however, several Skymasters are shown in close-up shots as the reporter tells us that using spotter planes is forbidden by the regulations.
