I hear the Cubans don't like 337's very much. State Dept says not to go: https://travel.state.gov/content/tra...ages/Cuba.html

Since June of 2019, all Part 91 flights have been banned. I have not seen anything on this being rescinded.

I've been pondering KBRO-KEYN, VFR.

I did KFLL VFR Direct to Mobile, AL. Did it in a 172P model. I kept thinking the whole time I was over the water how many drilling rigs there were, and how you could easily ditch near one for a quick rescue. I didn't bring a raft.
I flew single engines to the Bahamas. Every time we got out over the water, it seemed like the engine sounded different. I wasn't the only pilot who mentioned this, must be something psychological going on. |

I went to Cuba with my Skymaster in April 2019. I'm pretty sure the travel ban imposed is still in place. I went there on a work visa doing the film The Wasp Network. Everything went smoothly and it was an interesting place to visit. Downtown Havana was nice in the hotel section. All those old Chevy's you see pictures of are really there but they have Russian made diesel boat engines installed. The people are poor but happy. You cannot spend US Dollars in Cuba. You exchange for a tourist currency which has no value on departure.
