Insulation around air scoop
Does anyone have any thoughts as to why there is insulation packed around the inside of the airscoop housing? I don't think the squirrels did it.

I'm not sure but my guess would be that it dampens vibration

I thought it was very weird why insulation was around rear engine intake housing. It was all wet n damp full of leafs on my aircraft. I've pulled it all out. Luckily there is very light surface corrosion there but all the screws around the housing were rusted out.
