If it is toast and you don't mind the downtime, Bob Bena of RLB Accessory Service rebuilds them. Mine took six weeks, but he was waiting on parts. Mine was totally fried from the electrical short my airplane experienced after takeoff. It looked like the motor had caught on fire. $255, it looks new now.

I ended up buying one off the shelf without the core as I needed to dispatch on a trip. My mechanic found it through a supplier for $1500 and $500 for no core. $2K was better than anything else we could find. I'm keeping the one Bob rebuilt on the shelf as these are hard to find.
