patrolpilot is on a distinguished road
I use an iPad Mini 4 oriented in portrait rather than landscape, which matches the route of flight and charts better. The following RAM components are all size "B"; the prices are MSRP.
  • RAM-B-202-AP20U iPad Mini4 mount ($24)
  • RAP B-200-2U Double Socket Swivel ($25)
  • RAM B-121BU Yoke Clamp Base with Ball ($26)
I move this across several Cessna aircraft that I fly regularly; 172, 182, 210 plus my 337.

With the Mini's smaller profile, I have no trouble seeing anything on the panel. I have full access to the electric trim, and the factory autopilot and trim disconnect switch inside the control "horn" yokes. See the attached image.

As a note, I bought a factory sealed Mini4 128GB on eBay for less than $250, specifically for ForeFlight use. It has plenty of horsepower and storage space.
