mshac is on a distinguished road
Baron is not a bad airplane. I have about 500 hours in them. I named one of my dogs Baron. I found that Beech tends to exaggerate Baron performance numbers just a bit. I love the easy entry of the 58 series, while the P-Baron and Turbo Baron (the one with Duke engines) are great performers, if very thirsty birds. Beech parts cost far more than Cessna parts, but the Baron is generally easier to work on than the Skymaster.

I bought the Skymaster for safety reasons, since I don't fly near as frequently as I once did. The critical thing is witha Baron is to stay sharp on your engine out scenarios, as you must with any conventional twin.

I would go back to a Baron if some amazing opportunity presented itself, but I'm mostly happy with my P337H. The times I'm not usually include when I need to carry six passengers, but only have five seats, and when older passengers are forced to climb over the middle seat to access the rear seat.
