Opinions on corrosion?
So, I'm in negotiations to buy a 1967 Cessna 150 (I know, this is a Skymaster forum...but unfortunately I just can't afford one). Currently waiting on a pre-buy/annual inspection in about 2 weeks. The plane looks pretty good at first glance, although the paint on the empennage is quite poor.
The real concern I have is corrosion visible on the inside (inboard) edges of the ailerons, meaning the corners of the ailerons nearest the fuselage. It seems superficial, but ugly.
Could someone with some experience give me an opinion on these photos? The holes you see are manufactured, not rot-through. Can this be removed and painted over? Or are we looking at custom sheet metal work?
