I do not believe a legal minimum equipment list ever existed for your plane. If it did, it would be specific to your serial number, and the MEL for another 336 would not be a legal substitute....

I had that happen to a twin turbo plane (both wastegates stuck open at the same time after an extended sit.)

I didn't get off the ground - it showed up on the takeoff roll.

I found a 1969 337D model with a IO-360-D engine, and that's not listed as approved on the TC. There is no STC or form 337 approving the swap. I believe it's an invalid engine for that plane.

Allowed engines in each model year

My reading of the type certificate (http://www.337skymaster.com/messages/attachment.php?attachmentid=1722&d=1489027004) says that IO-360-D engines were allowed on the rear of 337, 337A and 337B...

Of course. But 337 hours are multi hours in the FAA's eyes. It doesn't matter if you are AMEL, CLT or AMEL, unrestricted.

Hi all,

I'm looking for a recommendation for a pre-buy mechanic with 337 experience near Mena, Arkansas (it's on the western AR state line.)

Any suggestions?

I do not believe that this is correct. Your 337 time counts as mutiengine time for the purposes of FAR 61.129(b). I think that's the only place the FAA refers to logging multi time. The rest is...

My 1968 337C Handbook says accelerate-stop (0->85 mph->0) is 2450 ft. No idea why it dropped on later models that got heavier. I sent you the page from the POH; I can't include the single page here...

You can put 3-bladed MT props on all of the early 337s (337->337F.)
