Hydraulic filter

Has anyone ever changed or cleaned the hydraulic filter? This is on a 1967 Skymaster (and the filter is mounted on the engine fire wall).

The book says to clean the filter, but I wonder if it is...

Fuel Selector Valve

Has anyone ever rebuilt a fuel selector valve? Specifically, do the checkballs usually wear out, and are those checkballs easy (and cheap) to get from Cessna?

Any other hints would be appreciated.
