Kevin is right on about EGTs. important thing is CHTs in terms of engine life. EGTs are for reference only, absolute temps do not matter much except as giving info about the timing of the combustion...

Why is the rear prop shorter than the front? I would think with all the disturbed air on the rear prop you'd want it longer, not shorter. Is that the reason there seems to be a sight difference in MP...
