I found a 1969 337D model with a IO-360-D engine,...
I found a 1969 337D model with a IO-360-D engine, and that's not listed as approved on the TC. There is no STC or form 337 approving the swap. I believe it's an invalid engine for that plane.

I talked to them and they confirmed what I thought - the only way to change to an engine that's not on the TC is with an STC, or a field approval with a form 337 filed with the FAA.

My reading of the type certificate (http://www.337skymaster.com/messages/attachment.php?attachmentid=1722&d=1489027004) says that IO-360-D engines were allowed on the rear of 337, 337A and 337B...
