Wanted: inboard right tank for 1977 337G
Looking for an inboard right tank for a 1977 337G. Part number 1516133-34.
Anyone have a source or a suggestion on who to contact? It the one roadblock to getting my plane flying. Would appreciate any help. |
If Don Nieser at Commodore aerospace doesn’t know of one, you might give these fellas a call. Maybe they can repair yours or build you an “owner-produced” one.
Also check out the parts thread…maybe someone parting out a g model will have one? Airplanefueltanks.com |
In my experience, this was a tough one. Tanks are hard to find.
Try Dave Cox in Kalamazoo, MI phone (269) 217-3008 In May 2021 he welded a crack on the top of my tank. This is specialized stuff to weld aluminum but he's the guy. Very skilled. Works from his garage at home. I drove my tank from Chicago to Kalamazoo and picked it up when he was done. Paid him cash. Wasn't crazy. Less than $500 as I recall. Maybe even $300. I cannot remember exactly. Herb Harney from this site connected me to him. He might remember me. He also installed some structure to the tank as it was "oil canning" which caused a fatigue crack and leak when tank was full. I can probably track down some photos if you need them. Dave Cox was retired as I recall spending many years working at Duncan Aviation I believe at the Battle Creek Airport (KBTL) if my memory serves. Good Luck..., keep us updated. |
