Oil vent tube - An "Inny or an outey?"

All-knowing Skymater Wiseman (and 'wimmen), lend me your ears...

Instead of schmeering my elevator with oil,
my rear vent tube goes down and vents out and below as attached in the photo.
Fancy materials, fire proofed, etc.
As photo shows, it sticks out about an inch.

After long flights, w long descents,
I have noticed a few drops of oil schmeered around the rear cowling.
Passenger side, from the vent tube.

Nothing measurable, except for the need to wipe.

My theory is it sticks out too much into the low pressure,
so aspirates out a few drops of oil.
My engines otherwise fly totally clean and dry (on the outside).

Yes, of course the vent has a hole just inside so as not to freeze.

To eliminate this slight bit-o-drool, should I set it more flush w cowling?

What d'ya think?

At least one inquiring mind would like to know!

Interesting

Trying to visualize and understand airflow around a 45 deg angle...
